Dev D (2009)

Dev D is a film by modern day adaptation of the novel Devdas by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay (see Devdas). It’s directed by Anurag Kashyap and stars Abhay Deol as Dev, Mahie Gill as Paro and Kalki Koechlin as Chandramukhi. Other cast of Dev D includes model Parakh Madan and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. It was released back February 6, I hope you’ve seen it because I’ve heard quite a lot of praises about Dev D and I’m really keen to get my hands on a DVD of the film.

The music of Dev D is composed by Amit Trivedi who’s come up with some amazing tunes. The songs are quite different from what we’re normally bombarded with. I hope you enjoy ‘em as I much I do.

Roja (1992) [MP3]

Roja is a multi-award winning film directed by Mani Ratnam and stars Arvind Swamy, Madhoo, Pankaj Kapoor (Shahid Kapoor’s dad), Nasser and Janagaraj. What this film is most known for is it’s amazing music which is composed by A.R. Rehman. I know many of you really like Roja’s songs since so many have requested them. Here they are finally. Enjoy!

Video - Kabhi Kabhi Aditi (Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na)

Kabhi Kabhi Aditi is a wonderful song from the equally great film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na with vocals from Rashid Ali sung to the amazing tune created by A.R. Rehman. The film stars the newcomer Imraan Khan, but I don’t think I need to tell you who he is. I mean, with the amount of publicity the film received, add to that Imraan’s fantastic performance, everyone should know him by now. Enjoy the video!!

99 (2009)

99 is a film by first time directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK and stars Kunal Khemu, Soha Ali Khan, Boman Irani, Cyrus Broacha, Simone Singh, Mahesh Manjrekar and Vinod Khanna. It’s a comedy film set in 1999, and one that I’m very much looking forward to. My reasons: a) I’m a big fan of Kunal Khemu (loved his acting in Traffic Signal) and the trailer looks fantastic. It will be released on the 15th of May, so check it out. I’m pretty positive you’ll enjoy it.

Music of 99 is composed by Ashutosh Phatak (a.k.a Ashu) and Sameer Tandon. I haven’t listened to the songs yet, so I can’t give you my opinion yet. I hope you like them.

Here is another great video from Gangster titled Bheegi Bheegi. The movie stars Emraan Hashmi, Shiny Ahuja and Kagna Ranaut and is a fantastic film to watch. I love the film and I love this song too. Enjoy!

8x10 Tasveer (2009)

8×10 Tasveer is a thriller by Nagesh Kukunoor and stars Akshay Kumar, Ayesha Takia, Sharmila Tagore and Javed Jaffrey. The film is about Jai Puri (Akshay) who has a superpower, and when someone very close to him dies, he uses his powers to unravel the mystery behind the murder. It was released on 3rd April and hasn’t received many good reviews, though trailer looks pretty cool.

Music of 8 x 10 Tasveer is composed by the Merchant brothers, Salim and Sulaiman. I hope you like the songs.
